Michael Bell is CEO and founder of

Prior to starting, Michael was Executive Director at Michael Sullivan & Associates, a 50-attorney law firm with offices throughout California.

During his tenure, he worked collaboratively with the General Managing Partner and other firm leaders to create the best worker’s compensation defense firm in California. Highlights include growing:

  • from 9 corporate clients to over 60
  • from 1 office to 6 state-wide
  • from 5 attorneys to 50 attorneys, and
  • revenue over 10x.

Bell also co-created a 20-year engine for the firm’s growth: the wildly popular “Sullivan on Comp” legal treatise.

“Sullivan on Comp,” first released in 2009, is a master work that firmly established the firm’s leadership position in the marketplace. Several of the firm’s attorneys authored the treatise; Bell negotiated to acquire the rights from a predecessor publication, built the production platform and team, and created the marketing plan, including negotiating a key partnership with WorkCompCentral.

He also designed procedures for staff handling of legal matters, back-office and financial management, on-boarding and training new employees, and actively worked to create a culture of excellence.

It was a wild ride with lots of fantastic lessons about hiring and team building, scaling a business, building a brand and even launching a product.

Before that, in 2005, he co-founded Shopping Syndicate LLC, the company that owned and operated He and his partner sold the business in March 2010.

Michael studied finance at the University of Dayton. He also worked as Marketing Manager for Investor’s Business Daily.
